McMurdo, a British company with headquarters in Portsmouth has added a new product to its portfolio - M5 Smartfind AIS (Automatic Identification System). In 2013, as part of the implementation of the legal framework of the European Union, Croatian fishermen are obliged to carry an AIS, class A, on board vessels longer than 18 m.
An AIS is used throughout the world and represents an efficient tool which enables countries to track fishing fleets along the coast. It represents a convenient and efficient method for tracking and monitoring all commercial vessels and preventing accidents and collisions at sea.
We are pleased to inform you that a large number of Croatian fishing communities recognized the quality of McMurdo’s M5 AIS devices and entrusted their safety and the fulfillment of their legal obligation for the ownership of an AIS, class A, in the hands of the company Crocon d.o.o. In addition, we would like to point out that McMurdo’s M5 AIS device, carrying a Wheelmark type approval, has been accepted and approved by the Croatian Register of Shipping and other classification societies.
